แนวทางปฏิบัติในชีวิตประจำวัน
คณะฆราวาสคาร์เมไลท์ มีแนวทางปฏิบัติในชีวิตประจำวัน ดังต่อไปนี้ :-

ฆราวาสคาร์เมไลท์สวดภาวนาและรำพึงวันละหนึ่งชั่วโมงครึ่ง
ในการรำพึงภาวนานี้ มีหลายรูปแบบให้เลือกปฏิบัติดังนี้

1. การรำพึงตามพระคัมภีร์
2. สวดภาวนา ทำวัตร
3. อ่านหนังสือบำรุงศรัทธา หรืออ่านหนังสือที่เกี่ยวกับธรรมเนียมปฏิบัติของคณะคาร์แมล
4. ศึกษาเอกสารแห่งสังคายนาวาติกันที่ 2 หรือสมณสาส์นต่างๆ ของสมเด็จพระสันตะปาปา

เพื่อมีชีวิตตามจิตตารมณ์ของคณะคาร์แมล และเพื่อพัฒนา “พระพิเศษ” ของคณะไปสู่ความดีล้ำเลิศได้

สมาชิกคาร์เมไลท์ ชั้น 3 ได้รับคำแนะนำให้ปฏิบัติดังต่อไปนี้ :-
1. เข้าร่วมประชุมหมู่คณะคาร์เมไลท์ ชั้น 3 เป็นประจำทุกเดือน
2. สวมใส่สายจำพวกแห่งภูเขาคาร์แมล เป็นเครื่องหมายยืนยันถึงการถวายตัวแด่พระนางมารีอา
3. ร่วมถวายบูชามิสซาเป็นประจำทุกวัน ถ้าหากเป็นไปได้ และเฝ้าศีลมหาสนิทบ่อยๆ เท่าที่เป็นไปได้
4. สมาชิกใหม่จะต้องพบผู้อบรมสั่งสอน (Instructor) เป็นเวลา 1 ปี ก่อนจะได้รับการรับเข้าคณะฯ จากนั้นจะต้องใช้เวลาอีก 2 ปี ในการฝึกอบรม และการสอนเรื่องต่างๆ เกี่ยวกับคณะคาร์เมไลท์ รวมทั้งจิตตารมณ์ต่างๆ ก่อนที่จะปฏิญาณตนตามระเบียบของคณะฯ (Professed)

หลังจากปฏิญาณตน 3 ปีแล้ว สมาชิกจะสามารถถวายตนเองทั้งครบด้วยการปฏิญาณถือศีลบน (Vows) แห่งความนอบน้อม และความบริสุทธิ์ตามสถานะแห่งชีวิตของตน

สมเด็จพระสันตะปาปา ยอห์น ปอล ที่ 2 ได้กล่าวถึงคณะคาร์เมไลท์ไว้ว่า :-

“เพื่อพวกเขาจะได้ตระหนักถึงกระแสเรียกของตนอย่างสมบูรณ์ สมาชิกคาร์เมไลท์ ชั้น 3 จะต้องเรียนรู้ที่จะให้การดำเนินชีวิตแต่ละวันนั้นเต็มไปด้วยการสวดภาวนา โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง บูชามิสซา และการสวดภาวนทำวัตร ให้พวกเขาเลียนแบบอย่างของประกาศกเอลียาห์ ซึ่งมีประสบการณ์กับพระเจ้าเป็นพิเศษ และทำให้ท่านประกาศกได้ทำหน้าที่ประกาศเรื่องราวของพระเจ้าได้ นอกจากนี้ ให้พวกเขาเลียนแบบอย่างชีวิตของพระนางมารีอาเป็นพิเศษ เพราะเหตุว่าพระนางรับฟังพระวาจาของพระเจ้าเอาไว้ในใจ และนำมาปฏิบัติตาม”
“บรรดาพี่น้อง ซึ่งสนิทสัมพันธ์ต่อกันภายในคณะคาร์แมล โดยผ่านทางสายจำพวก (Scapular) ควรตระหนักถึงพระพรต่างๆ ที่ตนได้รับ และซื่อสัตย์ต่อกฎเกณฑ์ข้อบังคับต่างๆ ในทุกกรณี ให้ความยินดีของพวกเขามิได้เป็นไปโดยผิวเผิน แต่ให้พวกเขายินดีที่จะเป็นผู้ที่ดีเหมือนดังพระบิดาเจ้าสวรรค์เป็นผู้ที่ดีบริบูรณ์” (เทียบ MT.5:48)

ในโอกาสที่ทรงให้คริสตชนเข้าเฝ้า เมื่อวันที่ 10 มกราคม ค.ศ.1979 สมเด็จพระสันตะปาปา ยอห์น ปอล ที่ 2 ซึ่งทรงสวดสายประคำทุกวัน และกระตุ้นเตือนทุกคนให้สวดด้วย ทรงย้ำถึงความสำคัญของความศรัทธาที่มีต่อแม่พระในครอบครัว และความสำคัญของสายประคำในฐานะที่เป็นความศรัทธาประจำครอบครัว พระองค์ได้ให้ความคิดใหม่ว่า ทุกๆ ปีคือปีแม่พระ พระองค์ไม่เพียงแต่สวม “เสื้อจำพวก” แห่งแม่พระภูเขาคาร์แมลเท่านั้น หากแต่พระองค์ยังทรงเป็นสมาชิกคนหนึ่งของคณะคาร์เมไลท์ ชั้น 3 ด้วย

The Beginning:

Begin by touching the crucifix and pray The Sign of the Cross.
Pray The Apostles Creed

I BELIEVE IN GOD, the Father almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father almighty. He shall come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

On the first rosary bead, pray the Our Father

On each of the next three beads pray the Hail Mary

Glory Be and Fatima Prayer

The Mysteries (on the green beads):
Note: The Rosary is divided into five groups of ten beads called decades.

One Hail Mary is prayed on each bead for a total of ten per decade.

During these prayers, we meditate on different aspects of Our Lord's life and Passion,

which are called Mysteries.

OUR FATHER,

Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
